Inspiration Avenue - Mother and Sweet Saturdays

>> Saturday, April 16, 2011

I'm using this image for both Inspiration Avenue's prompt and Sweet Saturdays as I think it fits for both.  I had a lot of fun with this one.  My distant trees aren't exactly the greatest but I still love this one.  I think it's my new fave!  BTW, it is the first painting I've put my signature on.  EEEHH!  I was so tempted not to but I know I should get used to adding it.  I think next time I will make it more subtle though.  Don't want it to distract from the painting itself so much.

I love the way you painted the distant trees. Since they are so muted it puts the focus on your adorable mommy and baby giraffe! I love it. :-)

What a lovely painting. Giraffes are so interesting to watch. Such beautiful big eyes and long graceful legs and necks.

This is a lovely piece, Deanna, and there's nothing wrong with the distant trees. The giraffes are very nicely done and very life like.

Who cares about the trees - I was too busy looking at the adorable giraffes! This is so lovely. I'm glad you're using it as your header as it deserves to be seen every day.

I LOVE, love, love this- you really captured that nurturing feeling between a mother and child that is present no matter what species the subject is. Beautiful work!
